Building Guitars and Singing the Blues

Post by ScrapyardGuitar on Tue Feb 03, 2015 4:39 pm

I started building unusual guitars a few years ago after I was made redundant by English Heritage, I can recall building seven up to press, not all of them good (you learn as you go along) and so far only one conventional guitar. Most have been made from unusual or found objects, hence the name, Scrapyard Guitar. Last year saw me build a Telecaster style guitar from scratch and this year I plan to build a replica of a 1920s Martin 0 gauge parlour guitar.
I also play and sing the blues, concentrating on renditions of early songs that were recorded in the 1920s and 30s. Some say that I am not bad, personally I think that I have a lot to learn and a long way to go.

That's very nice guitar you got there mate.

When I was yound , I used to play. Started with classic guitar, later jumped to drums, which I love the most, later electric and 4 string bass.

However blues not my thing, I aimed more at the heavy metal side of music Wink.
